Healthy Minds Senior Mental Health Lead Training

For senior leads in schools

Training Dates: 10th June and 30th June 2026

Venue: Suite 6, Albion House, Saville Street, Sheffield S4 7UD

Cost for Sheffield Schools: Reduced rate of £200 per person, £300 for two members of staff from the same setting;

Schools find it beneficial to have more than one member of staff attend, as this supports effective planning and helps embed approaches that strengthen emotional wellbeing across the school.

The training includes a review and planning tool and protected planning time and is therefore most applicable to staff who can impact school improvement in their role

Healthy Minds Senior Mental Health Lead training incorporates key elements from the DfE‑recommended curriculum and provides a deeper understanding of the local Healthy Minds offer, and a wide range of practical ideas—developed in collaboration with Sheffield schools—for implementing a whole‑school approach to emotional wellbeing.

The training recognises the diverse experience and expertise across Sheffield’s educational settings and is designed to work flexibly with different cohorts to meet their specific needs. It brings together knowledge of children and young people’s mental health, neurodevelopment, and clinical practice, integrated with the shared expertise of educational staff and offers practical strategies and resources to support whole school implementation.

A key aim of the training and ongoing support is to support each setting to develop a coherent and sustainable emotional wellbeing offer.
