About the training

The training supports settings to strengthen their universal inclusion offer by helping staff understand the relationship between emotional wellbeing, neurodevelopment, and behaviour. By embedding whole‑school approaches that promote safety, belonging, and relational practice, the training contributes directly to inclusive cultures where pupils’ needs are recognised early and responded to consistently.

The training recognises the diverse experience and expertise across educational settings and is designed to work flexibly with different cohorts. It supports each setting’s specific needs by bringing together:

  • Knowledge of children and young people’s mental health
  • Neurodevelopment and trauma‑informed relational practice
  • The shared expertise of educational staff

Participants gain practical strategies and resources to strengthen whole‑school implementation and build a coherent, sustainable approach to emotional wellbeing.

Healthy Minds Senior Mental Health Lead training incorporates key elements from the DfE‑recommended curriculum and provides a deeper understanding of the Healthy Minds framework for whole‑school approaches to emotional wellbeing, and the Mental Health Support Team offer.
